For years, Tiana's family has traveled down to Key West, Florida for family vacations. When it came time to plan their wedding, Tiana and Nick decided to host an intimate beach wedding for their closest family and friends, and what better place than Key West?! Together with their son (and without a doubt the world's cutest best man!), they journeyed down to Florida to soak up the sunny rays and tie the knot in one of the most beautiful settings around.
Tiana and Nick are true high school sweethearts. They met in third grade when Nick moved from Texas to Tiana's home town in Missouri. They were in the same grade and they shared the same friends growing up. Naturally they fell in love! ;)
A few years down the road, Nick decided to pop the question on a family vacation to the Florida Keys. Nick and their son, Griffin, aka the world's cutest best man, went together to pick up the ring the week before taking off.
Tiana said, "He asked my dad in person, at his work, for his blessing and my mom walked in so they both knew."
Nick wanted to propose early on in the vacation to calm his own nerves and to allow Tiana to enjoy being engaged for the rest of the trip. When they arrived in Florida, he had a plan.
"He had my mom gather everyone including parents, grandparents, and siblings, for a 'family picture' at sunset. He proposed in front of my family at my favorite place in the world and then a year later we got married there!"
And that's how their GORGEOUS Key West destination wedding came to be!
After getting engaged, Tiana started wedding planning, "We chose this venue first because we knew we wanted the Florida Keys. It's our favorite place in the world and that exact house was everything we hoped for. We wanted fun and easy, and we wanted everyone to just be able to relax and enjoy themselves and that's exactly what happened!"
Tiana chose a simple yet elegant theme for the wedding day; blush pink, gray, and gold. She wanted something, "easy, romantic, and beautiful."
In our opinion, she nailed it! The soft flowing bridesmaids dresses, expertly paired with delicate floral headpieces, were perfect for a beach wedding. Not to mention the barefoot sandals!
Tiana said her favorite moment of the wedding day was, "Hearing Nicks vows and watching him get emotional while saying the words he did to me. Anyone that knows him knows he's a man of few words, so it means a lot when he goes to that extreme when showing emotions."
Here at Captured In Frames, we love asking our couples for wedding advice. We find it helpful for our future couples and everyone seems to have a different answer. It's become a bit of a tradition for us!
When asked, Tiana said, "The advice I'm giving couples is truly that they need a wedding videographer. It was always number one on the list and it's something I heard most couples regret not having. A [wedding video] is something you will have for the rest of your life, and getting to hear those words and see those faces during that special time, forever, just beats it all."
"I'd recommend all of my vendors, I was very pleased with them all!"
