Each year we always stumble across new wedding spots. Different venues, places to get ready in the morning, picture locations, etc. Most of the time they aren’t necessarily new, but new to us! It just took a long time for us to eventually have an event there. Boy, this year did not disappoint! So here we go, our list of weddings spots we discovered in 2019!
Wild Carrot - St Louis
We. Love. This. Space! Seriously though, it’s a fresh take on the whole wedding loft idea. A huge open area typical to lofts but also tons of awesome little nooks and extra hideouts. There’s a fantastic balcony space with extra seating, a bridal suite down below, great outdoor areas, the list goes on! But the best part that we loved about this venue was how well the space flowed. Foyer -> bar -> dance floor -> seating. The perfect setup!
Gatsby Penthouse - St Louis
If you are getting married in St Louis and you haven’t decided where to get ready, stop right now and click the Gatsby link above. Just look at this space! Seriously, I don’t know if there’s a better spot to get ready in the city. Right around the corner from The Fox, natural light, plenty of room, and just a really awesome vibe to top it all off. Look no further!
Capital Bluffs - Jeff City
This one takes us out of St Louis and deeper into Missouri. Capital Bluffs sits on the north side of the river in Jefferson City. It has fantastic views of the golf course set against the bluffs in the distance. Tons of natural light, a wrap-around balcony with plenty of extra seating as well as his and hers prep locations. We loved documenting in this space and can’t wait to get back!
Ovation - Chicago
It was a weekend getaway for us early in the spring. Heading up to Chicago is always a treat but walking into Ovation made the trip that much better. Natural light (are you guys sensing a theme here?!) and a wide-open blank slate for you to dream and make it your own. We all know, the only way to keep the party going is to have the bar right next to the dance floor, check and check!
Your Backyard !!!
We sensed a new trend this year. Three of our events took place on family properties with guest counts ranging from 10-500. We’re always looking for meaning in the physical attributes of a wedding. A handkerchief passed down through the generations, your mother’s veil, these items that have a story behind them. When you say ‘I do!’ at home, we feel that it has that extra sense of meaning. Home is where you grow your family, rest and recoup, dream about the next steps in life. So to celebrate your wedding at home in your backyard is a nod to all that happened before and all that’s yet to come.
2019 was a fantastic year with even better couples. Looking at our 2020 calendar, we can’t help but shriek in excitement! Let’s see what new spaces we can stumble upon next year!
